A private residence set within Bali's dense tropical landscape and natural terrain.
Rigorous Contemporary Architecture Meets a Rich, Almost Primordial Natural Environment.
The architecture is defined by a simple and expressive volume, composed of strong horizontal lines, deep overhangs and extensive glazed surfaces. The restrained geometry creates a deliberate contrast with the surrounding vegetation, allowing the architecture not to imitate the tropical environment, but to frame and emphasise it.
One of the central aims of the project was to establish a close relationship between the interior and the landscape. Large openings, open terraces and carefully composed visual connections allow the surrounding greenery to remain constantly present within the house. The boundary between architecture and garden becomes almost imperceptible.
The interiors are defined by a deliberately atmospheric material palette. Dark surfaces, natural timber, stone and carefully controlled architectural lighting create a calm and intimate environment that contrasts with the bright tropical landscape beyond the glass. Double-height spaces, open staircases and layered views create a sequence of changing spatial experiences throughout the residence.
The architectural language is intentionally restrained: minimal decoration, with emphasis placed instead on proportion, materiality, light and space. Selected furniture and artworks act as accents within the quiet architectural framework.
Water Becomes Another Architectural Element.
The landscape continues the same approach. The swimming pool, terraces and outdoor living areas are integrated into the natural terrain and surrounded by dense tropical planting, reflecting the building, sky and surrounding vegetation.

Yes — the interaction between rigorous contemporary architecture and a rich, natural environment is a recurring theme across PREDMET.ARCHITECTURE's work, adapted to the character of each individual site.
